Building Dream Relationships
Ephesians 5:25-27
The love relationship gives you a great deal of authority! How will you use it--to be constructive or destructive? II Corinthians 10:8
I. The cost of this type of relationship
a. Jesus gave His life and became sin to give us life and life more abundant.
b. He had to quit thinking of himself and think only of others Php 2:4-5, 21
c. Seek profit for others and not for
d. yourself I Corinthians 10:33
e. Living to meet the needs of the other person with no ulterior motives Romans 14:19
II. Belief edifies I Corinthians 13:7 The African Chief
a. Give them a destiny—you really already do -- Gideon
b. I see the greatness in you even if no one else does
c. I expect great things
d. Let doubt never come out of your mouth
e. Even when there is a mistake believe that it could never have been intentional. Do not believe accusations. I Corinthians 13:7
III. Words edify Ephesians 4:29
a. Express admiration, gratitude, Education Experiment
b. Allow them to hear you speaking to others of your love, their greatness
c. Let them know that they are accepted just like they are
d. Do not use reverse psychology or negative hints and comments to get what you want
e. Remember that words alone are not enough I Peter 3:1
IV. Love edifies I Corinthians 8:1
a. I am satisfied now with the way you are
b. Do not seek what you want or your good I Corinthians 13:5
c. Do not be jealous or seek to be first in the relationship I Corinthians 4
d. My love doesn’t allow me to see your faults Prov 10:12, 17:9, I Peter 4:8
e. People live up to your expectations of them
