How to get Wisdom
James 1:5-8
I. Understand what is wisdom?
a. In Scripture theology, wisdom is true religion; godliness; piety; the knowledge and fear of God, and sincere and uniform obedience to his commands. This is the wisdom which is from above. Psalm 90:12. Job 28:28
b. The beginning of wisdom is the fear of the Lord God of Heaven Psalms 111:10
c. Characteristics of the wisdom from above James 3:17
d. Human wisdom James 3:14-16
e. A show of wisdom but not true wisdom Colossians 2:23
f. Fleshly wisdom or wisdom of this world II Corinthians 1:12, I Corinthians 3:19

II. Realize your need of wisdom
a. How to deal with our temptations, testings and trials
b. How to accept and trust what God is doing in my life and to trust Him Romans 8:28-29
c. Wisdom to allow the trying of my faith to mature me
d. Wisdom to serve God when things aren’t going my way
III. You get wisdom by asking
a. Ask God and it shall be given Proverbs 2:3-6
i. He gives to all men Matthew 7:7-11, Liberally, Upbraideth not
b. Ask in faith Hebrews 11:6, Psalm 51:6
i. Without wavering Isaiah 29:13
ii. Be not double minded James 4:8
c. Ask as you spend time in the Scriptures II Timothy 3:15
