Jesus Christ is God in Human Flesh
John 1:1-18
I. The Word--Jesus Christ coexisted with God
a. In the beginning the Word already was John 1:1
b. In the beginning the Word was with God
c. In the beginning the Word was God
d. Jesus said that He was the Alpha and Omega Revelation 1:8, 11, 17-18
e. Jesus that He is, was, and is to come
f. Jesus said that He was the beginning and the end Revelation 1:8
II. The Word--Jesus Christ is the creator of everything
a. He existed before everything else John 1:1-3
i. He was before John the Baptist his cousin who was six months older than Him John 1:15
ii. Jesus said that he was before Moses John 8:56-58
iii. He said that He was with the Father before the world was John 17:5, 24
b. He created everything Colossians 1:16-17
c. Nothing was ever made that He didn’t make John 1:3, Hebrews 1:2
III. The Word—Jesus Christ was made flesh John 1:14
a. To do that He left His throne in glory to come to this earth Philippians 2:5-8
b. God came to the earth in the person of Jesus Christ
i. Jesus repeatedly expressed that the Father was in Him and He was in the Father John 10:30, 37-38
ii. To believe on Jesus Christ is to believe on God the Father John 12:44-45
iii. Seeing Jesus was seeing the Father John 14:7-10
iv. Everything that belongs to the Father belongs to Jesus John 16:15
v. Jesus Christ is the image of the invisible God Colossians 1:15
vi. All the fullness of the Father dwells in the Son Colossians 1:19, 2:9
c. God was manifest in the flesh I Timothy 3:16, Hebrews 1:3
IV. Now get the true understanding of Christmas
a. God himself coming to earth to save sinful man Luke 19:10
b. Jesus didn’t grow up to be God He was God
c. There was the purpose of Christmas
d. That was the reason for all the celebration |
