God with us!

 

Matthew 1:21-23

 

I.                     The Creation reveals clearly that there is a God and leaves man without an excuse. Romans 1:18-20

a.      Denying the existence of God angers Him Romans 1:18

b.      Sin or failure to obey God and do what He says angers Him 1:18

c.      Every man doing or believing what he wants angers God 1:18—Isaiah 53:6, Romans 3:10-14

d.      Every man knows in his heart that God exists Romans 1:19

e.      You can understand God by the things that He has made Romans 1:20

f.        We see and understand even the invisible by seeing His creation Romans 1:20

g.      All are without excuse – they know that God exists and that they need Him Romans 1:20

 

II.                   Our Conscience bears witness with the creation that there is a God Romans 2:14-16

a.      Even those who have never read the Bible do what it says is right by their nature Romans 2:14

b.      Their understanding of right and wrong shows that God’s truth is written in their hearts Romans 2:15

c.      Their conscience tells them when they do wrong and they feel guilt even though they do not understand how or why Romans 2:15

d.      Not only do you know God exists by the creation you see but your conscience confirms what you see in creation 2:15

e.      All men will be judged by Jesus Christ according to the gospel 2:16

f.        There will be no secrets left unjudged 2:16

 

III.                  The Bible or Word of God explains how to know God

a.      The Bible gives us the truth in written form that our eyes have seen in creation and that our hearts have felt in our conscience

b.      The Bible clearly declares that we have sinned and failed God Romans 3:10-14, 23

c.      God loved man so much that He came onto the stage of history personally in the form of Jesus Christ Matthew 1:21

d.      He came to save us and forgive us of our sins Romans 5:8

e.      He came to make you a son of God John 1:12

                                                              i.      You must believe Him

                                                            ii.      You must receive Him

                                                          iii.      No man can do this for you
