Acts 17:6

 

• Most are making resolutions but what they need is a revolution or a complete turn over or change
• The change in your life will take place when the leadership changes
• The greatest life changer and world changer ever is Jesus Christ
• The world is looking for someone to bring about a great change—Abimael Guzman

 

I.                     Surrender your life totally to the Lordship or Kingship of Jesus Christ Acts17:7

a.      You must first know Him as your Savior for the forgiveness of your sins

b.      His kingship will mean your allowing Him to order and direct your life—He accepts no less from us—He is Lord

c.      Jesus Christ being King means that you will become totally consumed with Him--Spending time with Jesus left a definite mark on the lives of His followers Acts 4:13

d.      Kingship means that you will fill yourself with the word of God Acts 17:11

e.      ‘The world has yet to see what God will do with and for and through and in and by the man who is fully and wholly consecrated to Him’ - DL Moody heard the challenge and became the man!

II.                   When you recognize His ownership and right to rule in your life then you will be changed

a.      At the moment of salvation the change takes place and what is lacking is for you to recognize and realize His power in your life II Corinthians 5:17

b.      The Word of God will effectually or powerfully and effectively work in you and change your life I Thessalonians 2:13

c.      The power of the Holy Spirit of God begins to work in your life and effectively transforms you in a mighty way that you can’t even understand Colossians 1:29

d.      It is the power of God doing the work but you must make the decision and obey I Corinthians 15:10

e.      There will be a transformed life—from persecutor to preacher

III.                  Decide to risk your life Acts 15:26

a.      Begin to tell others about the one who has made such a change in your life Acts 5:28

b.      Talk about the change He has made in your life everywhere Acts 8:4

c.      Be known as Paul was known Acts 24:5

                                                              i.      A pestilent fellow

                                                            ii.      A mover of sedition or change

                                                          iii.      A ringleader

d.      Though you may not be called to a pulpit ministry you do have a story to tell

e.      Quit holding on to the ownership and leadership of your life—Crown Him King

f.        The revolution must begin in your personal life

 

Act 17:6 And when they found them not, they drew Jason and certain brethren unto the rulers of the city, crying, These that have turned the world upside down are come hither also;

Act 17:7 Whom Jason hath received: and these all do contrary to the decrees of Caesar, saying that there is another king, one Jesus.

 

Act 4:13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.

 

Act 17:11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

 

2Co 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

 

1Th 2:13 For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.

Col 1:29 Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.

 

1Co 15:10 But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

 

Act 15:26 Men that have hazarded their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

 

Act 5:28 Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us.

 

Act 8:4 Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word.

 

Act 24:5 For we have found this man a pestilent fellow, and a mover of sedition among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes:
