Lev_10:1
Strange fire is a fire that the Lord has not commanded us to offer. He wants to be worshipped and served as He has commanded. We do not decide what is right or good, He does. How many of our churches are offering strange fire to our God. If He has commanded us to take the gospel to the whole world and our obedience to his commands is for His glory and our worship towards Him what does that say about the way we do things. WAG
Lev_11:32
These verses form a part of Old Testament health laws that are still applicable today all over the world but especially in third world countries. I think it behooves the missionary to take these verses and teach them so that the way we handle food that is so different because of our health laws will not seem so arrogant because we show them that we got it from the Word of God.
If a dead body fell on a wooden vessel, or any vessel, clothing, skin or a sack it was to be put into water and made to set there for several hours until the evening before it would be clean. WAG
Lev_11:33
If the vessel is earthen it had to be broken obviously because it would be porous and soak up the germs. WAG
Lev_11:35
If the carcass of the unclean animal get on certain surfaces they had to be broken. Salmonela is a disease that causes great problems even now, 2005, in the USA due to the dead carcass lying on a surface and then not cleaning that surface correctly. WAG
Lev_13:1
Amazingly God tells the children of Israel about contagious diseases all the way back in the time of Moses. The Bible has to be divine for the amount of things that God gave to man before science could figure it out. WAG
Lev_16:21
Beautiful picture of how our sins are taken from us and placed on the Lord Jesus Christ. My only claim to purity is what He has done for me. He took my sins and He paid the price that I couldn't pay. WAG
Lev_22:25
The people of God were not to get a stranger or lost person to prepare the offering that they would give their God. God wants it to be something prepared by our own hand. WAG |
