Distinctives of the OGTC Mission Statement Our mission is to fulfill the great commission in “our generation.” The goal is to train 100, 60, and 30 fold Christians to be involved in getting the gospel message to every creature. Every person has differing abilities but we know that is it with those differing abilities that we are part of the body of Christ and as the body we are to work with those that follow after the doctrines of Christ to accomplish God’s command of world evangelism. Philosophy of Education Jesus Christ has set a model for training leaders. Our philosophy of education is based in the three-year ministry with Christ and His disciples. He chose twelve men to be with them which is a perfect example of life on life discipleship. We believe class instruction is important, but we emphasize the most valuable and effective way of learning -- taking a student and showing them how to do the ministry and the many problems they will encounter. What are we Like?Thinking about training for full-time ministry but want more than some monotone professor giving you theory about what you should do four years from now? Want a lively environment with one-on-one training from experienced missionaries who give you the practical know-how in only three years? Then the Our Generation Training Center at Vision Baptist Church is perfect for you. The Our Generation Training Center offers a three-year accelerated program focused on giving you the skills necessary for full-time ministry and it's not the usual college atmosphere. Small ClassesThe classes are small, allowing more personal training with experienced professors. Smaller class sizes also allow for greater expectations of you as the student. Small CostThe cost is small compared to most colleges. Tuition and housing are each $250 per month for a yearly cost of $3000 each. Book fees are minimal. Experienced TeachersThe staff members are experienced missionaries who have given their lives in service to the Lord for many years. Not only do these professors teach the theory from books, but they also make that theory come to life by sharing practical experience from their own ministries. The coursework is not just essays and tests. Students gain wonderful insight from participating in the many ministries of Vision Baptist Church—including preaching; teaching; children's, jail and nursing home ministries; and many others! Students are also encouraged to engage in learning about the many cultures represented in one of the most diverse cities of the Southeast. |
